Bill Oddie the Goodie Birder

Actor, writer, composer and conservationist Bill Oddie has passed away this week aged 85. I've always enjoyed his books and over the years followed his conservation work. During his long career he suffered from mental illness issues. Eventually he was diagnosed as bi-polar disorder. During the dark days of his depression I'm sure birding provided a place of calm and tranquility.
