Maybe they'll just bird and not list or just bird in one community. There are so many permutations. It can't be bad. I know returning to bird in the Metro Vancouver area after being "away" for the past twelve months has been invigorating. Seeing birding friends I haven't seen for ages, that's a bonus as I love the social side ofr birding as much as the solitary pursuit. Keep an open mind is my motto. Good birding in 2022 and may it bring peace after all you have gone through recently.John Gordonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05000639742722231998noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1684205219010103938.post-77761661660087585272022-01-14T20:45:34.942-08:002022-01-14T20:45:34.942-08:00What a beautiful post John filled with so many gor...What a beautiful post John filled with so many gorgeous photos and happy memories. I am happy to hear you connected with some lovely people. I am good friends with Dave Beeke, Ed, John and Larry, Krissi too. You worked so hard and should be proud of yourself especially for getting that high number of species and for talking the tough hike to see your WTPT. When you texted me and asked if I knew of anyone hiking up there soon and to connect you and then Craig emailed me and asked for the directions to where I saw the Ptarmigan and the hike route I figured it was serendipity. I'm glad both my friends had such a successful trip. The beginning of the hike is especially tough so kudos to you and congrats on the pygmy owls, the white winged crossbills and the mountain chickadees and of course the best prize the ptarmigan. again outstanding shots and congrats on such a fantastic 2021 FV Big Year thus far!Melissa Haftinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01762480704325333762noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1684205219010103938.post-60943471686302738142021-08-19T00:05:21.436-07:002021-08-19T00:05:21.436-07:00Hi John,

Quite striking to see the difference in size with some of the crows. Maybe the female is smaller or visa versa.
